Crosses for Las Vegas shooting victims will be put in museum

Updated October 13, 2017 - 6:23 pm

Wooden crosses memorializing each of the 58 people killed during the Route 91 Harvest Festival shooting will be moved to the Clark County Museum on Nov. 12, the county announced Friday.

Greg Zanis, a retired carpenter, traveled from Chicago and lined the 58 crosses behind the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign on Oct. 5.

The county is also collecting public tributes to the festival shooting victims placed in public rights of way so they can preserved and catalogued.

The tribute will be displayed at the county museum at a later date. Located at 1830 S. Boulder Highway, the 30-acre museum features more than 1 million artifacts.

Those interested in donating 1 October artifacts to the museum should email the museum at cynthia.sanford@ClarkCountyNV.gov.
