Pedestrian killed in west valley crash

An 80-year-old woman died after being struck by a vehicle in the west valley Thursday night.

Las Vegas police responded to the crash near Desert Inn Road and Durango Drive about 8:10 p.m. Evidence and witness statements indicated that the woman was crossing Desert Inn Road just west of Cutty Sark Street when she was hit by a 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe, according to police reports.

The pedestrian was not in marked crosswalk, according to the report.

The pedestrian died at the scene. No other injuries were reported from the crash.

This was the 93rd traffic related fatality in the Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction this year.
