Nevada’s employment director takes job with higher ed

CARSON CITY — Nevada’s director of employment, training and rehabilitation is leaving his post for a new job with the system of higher education.

Frank Woodbeck was appointed director by Gov. Brian Sandoval in September 2011.

Woodbeck on Thursday was named executive director of the Nevada College Collaborative, a new program within the higher education system to improve efficiency and effectiveness among the state’s community colleges.

He assumes his new role April 21 in Las Vegas.

Sandoval said Woodbeck in his new job will continue efforts to build a skilled workforce in the state.
