Motorcyclist dies after collision with pickup in east Las Vegas

A man died Thursday night on the east side of the Las Vegas Valley after his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck.

Las Vegas police responded to the crash at Desert Inn Road and Brentwood Street just after 9:30 p.m.

A 2005 Harley Davidson was traveling west on Desert Inn Road when it struck a 2005 Chevrolet pickup as the truck turned left through the intersection.

The 44-year-old motorcycle rider, whose name has not yet been released, was thrown from the bike. He was transported to Sunrise Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver and passenger of the pickup had minor injuries and remained at the scene.

This was the 26 traffic-related fatality in Las Vegas police jurisdiction this year. The collision is still under investigation.
