Man kills self after vehicle collision in Kingman

KINGMAN, Ariz. — Kingman police are trying to determine why an 82-year-old man killed himself after causing a minor traffic accident Tuesday.

The name of the Prescott resident was withheld pending notification of kin.

Kingman Police Department spokeswoman Jennifer Sochocki said the man was in the middle turn lane when he tried to turn right, across two lanes of traffic, crashing his Toyota with a passenger van. She said witnesses heard a gunshot after the vehicles came to rest in a motel parking lot.

Nobody in the van was injured she said.

The victim was dead at the scene.
