Light pole broken in Summerlin roll-over accident Thursday morning

A Thursday morning roll-over accident caused a light pole to fall and land in the street in west Summerlin.

A car rolled over about 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of Desert Foothills Drive and Desert Sunrise Road, north of Charleston, striking the light pole, according to Las Vegas police.

The occupant of the vehicle was out of the car and standing nearby when police arrived on the scene about 15 minutes later, said police spokeswoman Laura Meltzer.

It is unclear if the driver suffered any injuries in the accident. Police say delays can be expected while the vehicle is towed and the pole is re-erected.
