Las Vegas council lowers speed limit on Martin Luther King

Speed limits are getting lowered on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard following outcry over recent pedestrian deaths.

On Wednesday the Las Vegas City Council voted unanimously in favor of a resolution to lower the limit from 45 mph to 35 mph between Symphony Park and Carey avenues.

Since September there have been two pedestrian fatalities on the street. One pedestrian was killed Nov. 1 while in a crosswalk at Bartlett Avenue and another Sept. 20 in a crosswalk at Balzar Avenue.
