Two killed, one injured in accident in Arizona
Two people were killed and another person seriously injured when an eastbound vehicle left Interstate 40 in Arizona on Monday, slamming into a bank eight miles east of the California border.
The cause of the 2:58 a.m. accident remains under investigation, but the Department of Public Safety said separation of tread on a rear tire could have been a factor.
Passengers who died at the scene were identified as Erlinda Lim, 63, Lake Havasu City, Ariz., and Teresita Buenaventura, 52, Anchorage, Alaska. The driver of the 2006 Hyundai, Zenaida Ross, 40, Lake Havasu City, was listed in critical condition at University Medical Center.

Man found dead at Lake Mead identified
The 44-year-old Las Vegas man who died at Lake Mead National Recreation Area on Sunday night was identified as Brett Lawrence by the Clark County Coroner’s office.
The coroner’s office hasn’t yet determined how Lawrence died, but authorities believe he drowned.
Lawrence was boating at the lake’s Special Events Beach at about 6:30 p.m. when the Sea-Doo personal watercraft he launched became disabled, officials said. Witnesses saw Lawrence go under the surface when he was working on the Sea-Doo.
His body was recovered about an hour later. Officials said he wasn’t wearing a life jacket.

Sentencing of Kenny delayed until July 11
Former Clark County Commissioner Erin Kenny’s day of reckoning in federal court has been pushed back to July 11.
Kenny, who in 2003 entered into a plea agreement to assist prosecutors in a political corruption case involving other commissioners and private interests seeking favors, was to have been sentenced on Wednesday.
The 46-year-old, who accepted bribes in exchange for lobbying for developments, can serve no more than five years in prison under the terms of her plea deal.
Last year, Kenny testified against former Clark County commissioners Mary Kincaid-Chauncey and Dario Herrera, both of whom were found guilty and given prison terms.
Kenny told jurors that the three of them had joined together to push for the agenda of former strip club owner Mike Galardi in exchange for cash rewards. The go-between for the commissioners and Galardi was former Clark County Commissioner Lance Malone.
Kenny also is part of the prosecution’s case against developer Donald Davidson, who stands accused of bribing or attempting to bribe public officials.
