Henderson man dies in SUV rollover on U.S. 95

A Henderson man died after his SUV rolled over on the freeway early Saturday morning, according to Nevada Highway Patrol.

After the initial investigation, troopers believe the man was driving a blue Ford Expedition that was traveling south on U.S. Highway 95 about 5 a.m. As he was curving right on the southbound offramp to East Lake Mead Parkway, the SUV veered left into the rock area east of the road.

The Ford flew into the air and struck a metal beam on the bottom of the overpass, flipping over onto its roof and hitting a concrete column, the Highway Patrol said.

The 37-year-old man was pronounced dead on the scene.

Speed was a factor in the crash, and a toxicology report is being done, according to the Highway Patrol.

The man’s identity will be released by the Clark County coroner’s office once his family has been notified.
