Hearing scheduled in police shooting

A coroner’s inquest jury is scheduled to hear testimony today in the shooting of a suspected male prostitute by a Metro police officer.

Attorney Leon Simons. will preside over the six-juror panel.

The jury will decide whether the shooting of Donald Bryan Schiess, 20, was justifiable.

The victim was shot by vice officer George Pease after he allegedly pulled a knife against the undercover officer.

Police said Pease did not have time to identify himself as an officer before he pulled a gun from under the seat of a car and fired three times, killing Schiess.
