Four die in head-on crash in northwest Arizona

Four people died in a head-on collision Monday in the northwest Arizona community of Fort Mohave.

A 1999 Mazda sedan was traveling northbound when it crossed into oncoming traffic about 7 p.m., hitting a 2004 Toyota station wagon south of Bullhead City on Arizona Route 95 near Dunlap Road, Department of Public Safety spokesman Raul Garcia said.

The driver of the Mazda, Sean Anthony Ward, 17, of Moore, Okla.; his passenger Jessica Qualkenbush, 14, of Fort Mohave; and the passenger in the Toyota, Michael William Burford, 53, of Mohave Valley, Ariz., were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Toyota, James Scott Burford, 51, of Mohave Valley, was flown to Sunrise Medical Center in Las Vegas, where he died Tuesday morning.

Police are still investigating the crash.
