Silver State Schools CU donates $5,000 to Las Vegas school

Silver State Schools Credit Union has awarded $5,000 to Cyril Wengert Elementary School, one of 36 schools identified as “Five Star” in School Performance, the Clark County School District’s new transparent tracking system.

The five star schools were eligible to receive the $5,000 donated by Silver State Schools, with Wengert chosen randomly as the winner.

“We understand the value that additional funds can contribute to our schools,” said Andy Hunter, the credit union’s CEO. “Wengert Elementary may choose to spend the money in any way they see fit, whether it is to purchase iPads for the classroom, buses for field trips, or to send staff to professional training.”Contact reporter Chris Sieroty at csieroty@reviewjournal.com or 702-477-3893.
