School District needs $5.3 billion over next decade

The Clark County School District needs about $5.3 billion to maintain an equal educational environment for students over the next decade, the School Board was told Wednesday. However, the district doesn’t have the money and few options besides asking voters to pass a bond and pay more in property taxes.

Faith Lutheran students take time out of class to help others

About 600 middle school students from Faith Lutheran Jr/Sr High School, 2015 S. Hualapai Way, participated in the school’s annual service event Jan. 13 and were bused to more than 20 locations around the Las Vegas Valley, including at-risk elementary schools, senior centers, veterans homes and charities.
