Nevada Energy Foundation contribution bolsters science education

New funding will help renew a program that helps support Nevada educators in science-based environmental education.

NV Energy, NV Energy Foundation and the Desert Research Institute renewed their commitment to continue to support pre-kindergarten to grade 12 educators in shaping the next generation of scientists, according to a news release.

The Nevada Energy Foundation contributed $180,000 to support the GreenPower program for two years. An additional $70,400 from NV Energy will fund an expansion of the program’s Energy Wise Educators Academy throughout the state.
