■ What college do you plan on attending and for what major?
I plan on attending the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. I plan on pursuing a concentration in management. Commerce has always been a prominent component of my life as my parents are small-business owners and have always aimed to demonstrate the merits of ethical practices.
■ What extracurricular activities do you participate in?
I have been a member of Green Valley’s Varsity Quiz team for the past two years. I am currently a member of the Spanish Honors Club at the school and also volunteer graphic design services to nonprofit trade organizations.
■ What do you do for fun?
I look to music for fun and relaxation. I have played guitar, bass and drums for the past three years and have recently expanded into music production.
■ In detail, how did you prepare for the PSAT?
I took a timed practice test each weekend for the two months leading up to the exam.
■ Why are grades so important to you?
To me, grades represent an opportunity to highlight months of effort and dedication. While my grades do not define me as a person, I have always taken pride in succeeding in the classroom.
■ What’s your favorite movie and book?
My favorite movie would have to be “Airplane!” and my favorite book is “The Lathe of Heaven,” by Ursula K. Le Guin.
■ What’s a guilty pleasure of yours — such as a TV show, movie or hobby — and why are you ashamed of liking it?
I am an avid fan of Seth MacFarlane’s show “Family Guy.” However, I am embarrassed to admit this because of the show’s lowbrow humor.
