CSN endowment aids military veterans in air conditioning technology program

Military veterans who are students in the College of Southern Nevada’s air conditioning technology program will soon benefit from funds that were donated to the college.

Kenneth D. Goodrich, a local entrepreneur, on Friday announced the establishment of a $100,000 scholarship endowment at the college targeting those students, according to a news release.

The College of Southern Nevada plans to use the funds to provide veterans the toolkits that they will need to immediately go to work in the heating, ventilation and air conditioning industry in Southern Nevada, the release says.

While some employers provide a portion of these tools, essential items, such as gauges and meters, can often cost a worker more than $1,000, according to the release.
