County approves expanded lease for UNLV School of Medicine

Clark County commissioners unanimously approved a lease deal on Tuesday that will expand the leased space set aside for the University of Nevada School of Medicine.

The agreement with the Nevada System of Higher Education gives the medical school an additional 15,018 square feet at 1524 Pinto Lane. In all, the planned school has 19,297 square feet for medical services and clinic space, academic education and research and administrative space.

The three-year lease will provide $1.3 million in revenue to the county’s University Medical Center, which owns the building. The lease has a three-year option to renew through the end of 2021.

In June, commissioners approved a lease for the medical school for 4,279 square feet, with the goal of phasing in more space.
