Board of Regents elects new leaders

Kevin J. Page will become chairman of the state’s Board of Regents effective July 1.

Page, who has been vice chairman since 2011, was unanimously elected to his new role Friday, according to a news release from the Nevada System of Higher Education. Attorney Rick Trachok, who became a regent in 2011, was elected vice chairman.

Page serves as managing director and senior relationship manager for Wells Capital Management-Institutional Investment Management Services. Trachok is a senior partner at Lewis and Roca in Reno, where he focuses his practice in the areas of regulatory and gaming law, utility regulation and commercial law, according to the news release.

Jason Geddes is the current chairman of the 13-member higher education board, which sets policies and approves budgets for Nevada’s public system of higher education.
