Clark County coroner IDs motorcycle accident victim

The motorcyclist killed in a collision in the northwest valley Thursday has been identified by the Clark County coroner’s office as Mark Erik Walwyn, of North Las Vegas.

Malwyn was riding a 2012 BMW motorcycle fast in the left travel lane of Craig Road near Jadestone Avenue when he collided with a 2008 Honda Accord making a left turn in front of him just before 2 p.m., according to Las Vegas police.

The 43-year-old was thrown from his motorcycle and slid to a stop several hundred feet from the crash site, police said.

Walwyn died at the scene from multiple blunt force injuries. His death has been listed as an accident by the coroner’s office.

The driver of the Accord was transported to University Medical Center with moderate injuries.

This was the 111th traffic fatality in the Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction in 2013.
