CCSD seeks grant for iPads to track preschool progress

Preschool teachers would receive 510 iPads at a cost of $245,000 to monitor the progress of students heading into kindergarten if the state approves a Clark County School District grant application.

The proposal is for teachers to use the iPads to administer and record assessments, reducing the time it takes to input data as the device will be used as part of the teaching cycle, according to district officials. The state Legislature set aside grant funds for the purchase of instructional technology to be used in 2013-14.
