Warm, sunny weekend forecast for Las Vegas

The warm and sunny weather will continue Sunday in the Las Vegas Valley, before a low pressure system brings cooler temperatures and possible rain next week, according to the National Weather Service.

Saturday saw a high of 91 degrees, and clear weather is expected to continue into Sunday, which has a forecast high of 90 degrees, the weather service said.

Sunday will have winds of 5 to 9 mph in the afternoon and gusts up to 20 mph, the weather service said.

A low pressure system will enter the valley on Monday, bringing an almost 10-degree drop in temperatures, meteorologist Andrew Gorelow said. Monday will see a high of 82 with wind gusts up to 20 mph.

The valley on Tuesday will see sunny skies and a high of 80, the weather service said.

Rain chances will come into the valley on Wednesday, which has a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms starting after 11 a.m. and carrying into Thursday night, the weather service said.

Wednesday and Thursday have forecast highs of about 80. Overnight lows through Thursday night will be in the mid- to low- 60s.
