Vortex in lake is big enough to swallow a boat — VIDEO

A large vortex formed when officials opened the flood gates at Denison Dam recently to drain the overflowing Lake Texoma near the Oklahoma-Texas border.

The vortex is about 8 feet in diameter. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers said it could swallow a full-sized boat.

The National Weather Service reported there was enough rain in May in Texas to cover the state 8 inches deep.
