Thanksgiving is over but the chill isn’t over yet for the valley

Temperatures in the Las Vegas Valley will remain chilly through the beginning of the week, the National Weather Service said.

Saturday saw a high temperature of 50 degrees, which is 10 degrees below average, according to the weather service.

Sunday will be no different.

The thermometer is not likely to rise above 51 degrees, meteorologist John Salmen said. Overnight temperatures are expected to dip into the 35-degree range Sunday morning.

There are no winds or precipitation in the immediate forecast, and the valley might warm up beginning Tuesday, when temperatures might reach 58 degrees, and 60 degrees Wednesday, Salmen said.

The National Weather Service’s office, located about five miles southwest of McCarran International Airport, dropped to a freezing 32 degrees overnight for the first time this season Saturday morning.
