Temperatures rise this week before dropping this weekend

Temperatures will rise through the middle of the week before a storm rolls through the Las Vegas Valley bringing back cooler temperatures, according to the National Weather Service.

Monday’s high reached 62 degrees and the highs go up from there. Tuesday will see a high of 66, Wednesday’s afternoon temperatures will climb to 70, and Thursday will see temperatures in the low 70s, according to meteorologist John Adair.

The normal high temperature for this time of year is 58 degrees, so this week’s temps are well above average. Nighttime lows are forecast in the upper 40s through Friday.

However, a storm is expected to roll through the region Thursday night and into Friday morning bringing cooler temperatures and a high of 55 degrees for Friday, Adair said.

The storm could bring light showers, particularly Friday morning, said meteorologist Chris Outler. Areas north of the valley and parts of California and Utah will have chances of rain and snow.

Las Vegas will experience mainly wind and cooler temps from this storm, and there will be periods of high clouds, which “make for good sunrises and sunsets,” Adair said.

The weather service forecasts a high temperature of 55 degrees Saturday and Sunday.
