Rain expected mid-week in Las Vegas Valley

Updated March 20, 2018 - 9:11 pm

Rain could be coming to the Las Vegas Valley over the next couple days, according to the National Weather Service.

Wednesday will be mostly cloudy with a 73-degree high, according to the weather service. A 10 percent chance of showers in the morning will increase to 30 percent in the afternoon. Winds could gust up to 20 mph, the weather service said.

The best chance of rain comes Thursday, when a 50 percent chance of showers will accompany a 70-degree high. Stronger breezes are expected across the area Thursday, but the southwest valley will see the strongest gusts, with winds reaching 35 mph.

Sunny skies are expected to return Friday along with a high of 69 degrees. The weekend should be cooler, with highs in the mid-60s, breezy conditions and mostly sunny skies.

Lows throughout the valley from Wednesday to Friday are expected in the mid- to high-50s. Lows over the weekend should stay in the high-40s.
