Las Vegas to see warm, calm weather this week

No matter which team you’re cheering for this Super Bowl Sunday, everyone wins with this week’s forecast in the valley.

Sunday afternoon should see high temperatures about 67 and breezes 10 to 15 mph, with the possibility of gusts up to 25 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

The most interesting thing after that is how stable the forecast is, said meteorologist Chad Shafer.

“Even beyond this week, models show no precip for two or three weeks,” he said.

High temperatures in the valley are going to be seven to 12 degrees higher than the average for this time of year, he said.

Monday and Tuesday should see high temperatures about 70 degrees with lows hovering in the mid 40s and Wednesday’s forecast high is 72 degrees.

It looks like the valley is in for “an extended dry spell,” Shafer said.
