Hot and dry this week in Las Vegas Valley

The Las Vegas Valley will experience a hot and breezy start to the week, the National Weather Service said.

A weak weather system will bring winds with gusts of about 20 mph starting Monday and continuing through Wednesday, the weather service said.

The forecast high for Monday is 107 degrees. The record for June 4 is 109, set two years ago, the weather service said.

Tuesday’s high temperature should cool off slightly at 102, followed by 100-degree highs Wednesday and Thursday. Temperatures will increase slightly to 102 on Friday and Saturday before dropping to 101 on Sunday. The normal high this time of year is 95 degrees, the weather service said.

Mostly sunny skies are expected in the valley throughout the week, the weather service said.
