Highs in 90s in Las Vegas Valley before weekend cool-down

Mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the 90s are expected in the Las Vegas Valley this week, before a weekend storm system brings clouds and cooler conditions, the National Weather Service said.

Highs will be in the low 90s Wednesday through Friday, the weather service said.

A storm system coming into Southern Nevada will drive weekend temperatures to the mid-80s, the weather service said. Showers in the mountains are possible, but no precipitation is expected in the valley. Partly cloudy skies are expected Saturday through Monday. The forecast high on Monday is 90 degrees.

Winds will be light through the week and pick up on Saturday. Sunday and Monday also are expected to have light winds.

Lows throughout the forecast will be in the mid-60s to low-70s. The normal high this time of year is 91. The normal low is 68.
