Excessive heat warning returning to Las Vegas Valley
Hazy skies and excessively hot temperatures are expected in the Las Vegas Valley through midweek, the National Weather Service said.
An excessive heat warning will be in effect for the area Monday through Wednesday. The high temperature on Monday and Tuesday is expected to reach 110 degrees. The temperature will rise slightly on Wednesday to 112, the weather service said. Cooling stations will be available throughout the valley during the excessive heat warning.
High temperatures will drop slightly on Thursday and Friday to 109 and 108, respectively. Lows throughout the forecast will linger around 87, the weather service said.
Smoke from fires in California will continue to clog the Las Vegas Valley skies through at least midweek, the weather service said.
The valley will be dry through the week, but the Spring Mountains and Red Rock National Conservation Area show a small chance for rain on Thursday and Friday afternoon, the weather service said.
