Cool temps with rain in Las Vegas Valley this week

Below-average temperatures over the next few days will rise quickly as the weekend approaches, the National Weather Service said.

Tuesday shows a forecast high of 69 degrees, breezes and a 40 percent chance of rain, according to the weather service. The chance for rain will decrease to 30 percent Wednesday when the valley will see a forecast high of 68.

Both days are expected to produce a maximum of 0.10 inches of rain, the weather service said.

The precipitation is also expected to drop snow on the mountains west and north of the valley. A winter weather advisory will be in effect from 5 a.m. Tuesday to 5 a.m. Thursday in the Spring Mountains and Sheep Range at elevations above 7000 feet, according to the weather service.

Sunny skies will return Thursday with a high of 80, according to the weather service. Temperatures will continue to climb Friday and Saturday, with highs of 88 and 93, respectively.

Lows throughout the forecast will range from the lower-50s to the upper-60s.

The normal high this time of year is 83, and the normal low is 61.
