Cool, dry weather continues for Las Vegas Valley
January 10, 2016 - 9:00 pm
The cool and dry weather in the Las Vegas Valley over the past few days is likely to continue into the coming week.
The National Weather Service said Sunday’s high temperature was 50 degrees. The week ahead is expected to have highs in the mid-50s as well, with Monday’s high predicted to reach 51 degrees.
The chances for precipitation in the valley remain low until Wednesday, when they increase slightly and light showers seem slightly more likely.
Mount Charleston did not receive the expected snowfall of 1 to 3 inches, but it may get a “light dusting” of snow in the coming days depending on the strength of the system moving in. That potential snowfall remains only a “slight chance,” according to National Weather Service meteorologist Barry Pierce.
High gusts and wind speeds are not expected. Pierce said clouds like those on Sunday will stick around for the coming days, but that more sunshine is expected on Monday and Tuesday, Pierce said.
