Calm conditions, normal temps forecast through Sunday
November 11, 2015 - 8:04 pm
Calm conditions and sunny skies should last through Sunday, when winds are expected to pick up again and temperatures are expected to drop.
Wednesday saw a high temperature of 61 degrees and wind speeds of less than 10 mph, an improvement from Tuesday’s 20-30 mph gusts, according to the National Weather Service.
Wednesday’s high was eight degrees below normal for this time of year, but temperatures are expected to return to normal before the weekend. Thursday and Friday will see highs of 65 and 67 degrees, according to meteorologist Jim Harrison.
Another weather system is expected to move into the valley Sunday night and into Monday, bringing more winds and possible snowfall to Mt. Charleston.
High temperatures should climb to 70 Sunday degrees before winds kick up in the afternoon. Monday’s forecast is partly cloudy with “brisk” winds 10 to 20 mph and a much cooler high temperature of 57 degrees, Harrison said.
