Breezy start to the week expected for Las Vegas

Updated January 27, 2019 - 10:00 pm

The National Weather Service forecasts a breezy start to an otherwise calm, sunny, warmer-than-average week in the Las Vegas Valley.

Monday will be sunny in the morning and partly cloudy in the evening with a high near 66 degrees, the weather service said. That’s 7 degrees higher than the normal high temperature for this time of year, 59 degrees. Winds will be breezy, blowing 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph, before temperatures overnight drop to 44.

Tuesday will see a high of 62, followed by a highs near 63 on Wednesday and Thursday. Skies are forecast to be mostly cloudy on Tuesday and mostly clear on Wednesday and Thursday, the weather service said.

An isolated shower could fall over the Spring Mountains on Wednesday, and there’s a 10 to 20 percent chance of isolated showers in the valley on Thursday.

Overnight lows should hover in the mid-40s through Thursday.
