Woman in critical condition after becoming trapped under vehicle on U.S. 95

A woman is in critical condition Tuesday morning after a single-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 95 near Cheyenne Avenue.

According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, a woman was southbound on U.S. 95 when she swerved, causing her SUV to overturn just after 5 a.m.

The driver was partially ejected, and became trapped underneath the vehicle.

Drivers stopped and lifted the SUV off of the trapped woman, NHP said.

The woman was taken to University Medical Center in critical condition.

The accident is causing significant backups for southbound U.S. 95, as only the right lane is open.
