Truth, Justice and the Pedestrian Way

The Crosswalk Crusader, conceived by a retired Las Vegas police sergeant, led a flash mob across Fremont Street during an event aimed to increase driver awareness of pedestrians in Las Vegas on Thursday.

The members of the flash mob include 56 people who represent those who died while crossing streets in Clark County in 2013.

The debut of the new Las Vegas superhero was aimed at reminding people that cars must stop while pedestrians are in crosswalks or travel lanes.

Most of the pedestrian fatalities in Las Vegas take place during street crossings outside of an intersection or a marked crosswalk.
