Three killed in I-15 head-on crash identified

Three people killed in a head-on crash on Interstate 15 near the Las Vegas Motor Speedway Sunday morning have been identified by the Clark County coroner’s office.

Aldo Diaz-Nafra, 20, of Las Vegas, was driving an gold Acura Legend northbound in the southbound lanes about 4:30 a.m. when he crashed into a southbound white GMC Yukon driven by Ashutosh Jain, 28, of Beaumont, Texas, according to Trooper Jeremie Elliott of the Nevada Highway Patrol.

Both drivers and a passenger in Jain’s vehicle, Chitra Jain, 58, were killed.

Four other passengers in Jain’s vehicle, believed to be related and visiting from India, were taken to University Medical Center on Sunday. Three of them were released on Monday, and the fourth will be released soon, according to Elliott.
