Teen killed in North Las Vegas accident; 3 family members injured

A teenager on her way home from a Halloween party with her son and grandparents died Thursday night in a North Las Vegas car accident.

Police responded to the accident just before 10 p.m. at Ann Road and Coleman Street.

Savannah McInnis, 17, was pronounced died at the scene from blunt force trauma to the head and neck, according to the Clark County coroner’s office.

Her 2-year-old son had injuries that were not life-threatening. Her grandparents were taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

A preliminary investigation shows that the girl’s grandfather was driving on Coleman Street in a 2000 Chrysler sedan when he was struck on the driver’s side by a 2000 Dodge Dakota at Ann Road.

The 21-year-old driver of the Dodge was not injured. It remains unclear to investigators who was at fault and if speed or alcohol were factors in the crash.
