Spill on I-15 at Charleston slows traffic, closes some lanes

A combination of oils, lard, fat and other restaurant substances spilled on Interstate 15 near Charleston Avenue about 7:30 a.m. Tuesday and caused traffic congestion.

The spill also caused a minor accident, with no life-threatening injuries, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

The Department of Transportation cleaned up the spills, which stretched out almost to the Spaghetti Bowl, and closed the two left lanes of northbound I-15, Transportation spokesman Damon Hodge said.
