Section of Las Vegas Boulevard North gets $17.3M facelift

Las Vegas Boulevard North got a $17.3 million facelift with repaved lanes, landscaping and median sculptures along a 4 ½-mile section running through North Las Vegas, the Nevada Department of Transportation said.

Concrete bus lanes, sidewalks and several mid-block crossings equipped with overhead flashing beacons were also added along Las Vegas Boulevard, between Carey Avenue and Craig Road, NDOT spokesman Tony Illia said.

“This rural, sparsely traveled area has transformed over time into a densely developed area with heavy pedestrian activity,” Illia said. “As such, these improvements will greatly enhance safety, mobility and traffic flows through a mature but vital community corridor.”
