Pedestrian struck by pickup in critical condition

A pedestrian was hit by a pickup truck Saturday night on Sahara Avenue, between Paradise Road and Maryland Parkway, according to Las Vegas police.

The accident occurred just before 8:30 p.m. on East Sahara Avenue near Van Patten Place while the 52-year-old man was crossing the street. He was not in a marked crosswalk, police said.

The pedestrian was taken to Sunrise Medical Center in critical condition.

The driver of the Isuzu pickup was not injured and remained at the scene.
