Motorcyclist killed in central Las Vegas crash

A Las Vegas motorcyclist was killed Wednesday morning in a crash in central Las Vegas.
Officers were called at 9:37 a.m. to South Rainbow Boulevard and West Tara Avenue after a crash involving a 2015 Kawasaki ZX636F and a 2020 Ford Fusion, according to a statement from the Metropolitan Police Department.
Investigators believe the motorcyclist, a 25-year-old, was speeding south on Rainbow into the intersection with it collided with the Ford, which was turning left onto Tara.
The rider was thrown from the motorcycle and died at the scene, police said.
The driver of the Ford, a 41-year-old Las Vegas man, suffered minor injuries.
Rainbow was closed for about six hours while police conducted the investigation.
The motorcyclist will be identified by the Clark County coroner’s office after family is notified.
