Motorcyclist in critical condition after Saturday night accident

A motorcyclist is in critical condition after being struck by a car Saturday night in the intersection of Desert Inn Road and Nellis Boulevard, according to Las Vegas police.

According to witnesses, Sheletheia Lumpkin, 37, was westbound in a 1994 Mercury sedan on Desert Inn about 10 p.m.

The motorcyclist, 67, eastbound on Desert Inn, was hit in the intersection by Lumpkin when she turned left onto Nellis Boulevard.

The motorcyclist was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Lumpkin suffered minor injuries.

The accident is under investigation by police.
