I-15 ramp reopened after cement truck rollover

A southbound Interstate 15 on-ramp near the Spaghetti Bowl was closed for more than six hours Friday after a cement truck overturned, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

The crash, on the on-ramp from Martin Luther King Boulevard to southbound I-15, happened about noon, NHP Trooper Loy Hixson said.

The first tow truck arrived at the wreck about 2 p.m. but was unable to lift the cement mixer. After the first truck’s boon was damaged, a second tow truck was called to assist about 3:30 p.m., Hixson said.

Traffic cameras showed the truck upright about 4:15 p.m. and traffic flowing by 6:15 p.m.

The driver of the cement truck suffered minor injuries and was not hospitalized.
