Friday night crash leaves one man dead

A 60-year-old pedestrian died Friday night after being struck by a car as he crossed the street.

Just before 7 p.m. the man was struck by a 2012 Chyrsler 300 driving north on Martin Luther King Boulevard. The driver failed to yield to the man, who was in a crosswalk at Bartlett Avenue.

The pedestrian was transported to University Medical Center Trauma Unit, where he died.

The Clark County coroner’s office will release the pedestrian’s identity once next of kin have been notified. The incident is still under investigation by Las Vegas police.

This is the 85th traffic fatality this year in Las Vegas police’s jurisdiction.
