Early morning accident kills one, injures another

A man died and another man was injured after their vehicle crashed into a wall near Flamingo Road and Decatur Boulevard Monday morning, according to Las Vegas police.

Evidence indicated a 42-year-old man was driving a 1998 Lincoln Continental westbound on Flamingo Road when he lost control of the vehicle and drifted off the road about 3:30 a.m.

The vehicle collided into a concrete wall west of Edmond Street.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity will be released by the Clark County coroner’s office.

A 31-year-old passenger was transported to University Medical Center with critical injuries.

The collision is still under investigation by police. The accident is the 21st traffic fatality in the police’s jurisdiction this year.
