Bridge construction on Sunset Road completes Friday

A new stretch of Sunset Road in Las Vegas will open Friday after 3 p.m., according to Clark County officials.

The $13.3 million project constructed a bridge so Sunset Road could pass under the Union Pacific Railroad tracks between Valley View and Decatur boulevards.

An underground storm drain system, up-sized sanitary sewer system and road improvements were also included in the project, officials said.

Contri Construction Company and Parsons Transportation Group constructed and managed the project respectively.
