Blown tire sends truck into oncoming traffic on I-40

A blown tire is to blame for a Sunday traffic fatality in Kingman.

The tire issue prompted an eastbound Ford truck to cross the median of Interstate 40 before striking a United States Postal Service tractor-trailer about 2 pm., according to the Department of Public Safety.

The driver of the pickup, James Bremmer, 54, of Yuba City, Calif., was pronounced dead at Kingman Regional Medical Center. Four passengers were injured, but only one was transported to the hospital, according to DPS spokesman Carrick Cook.

Cook said the driver and passenger of the Postal Service vehicle were treated for moderate injuries.
