At least one injured in single-vehicle crash

Three people involved in a Saturday morning vehicle-into-pole collision were taken to the hospital with minor-to-critical injuries.

Las Vegas Police responded about 6:50 a.m. to a single-vehicle accident on Maryland Parkway, north of Dumont Boulevard.

Evidence at the scene and a witness statement indicate that the 28-year-old driver of the 2007 Chevrolet Impala was driving southbound on Maryland, in the right travel lane, when the vehicle veered onto the west sidewalk and struck a signal control box and light pole, according to police.

The driver suffered critical injuries and the 24-year-old passenger was seriously injured. A 53-year-old pedestrian who had been waiting to cross Maryland suffered minor injuries when she was hit by fluid and debris from the accident.

All three were taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical and Center.

The accident is under investigation.
