Remains of a woman found in ravine in Northern Nevada

RENO — Douglas County authorities say human remains found in a ravine are believed to be those of a woman who went missing last month.

Deputies say 51-year-old Randi MacLean disappeared on Aug. 23 and was reported missing by her husband three days later.

Authorities had responded Sunday to a report of an abandoned white pickup, which was later identified as MacLean’s vehicle.

Search and rescue crews combed through the area for five hours and located the remains of a woman in a steep ravine.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
