Prison inmate dies in Northern Nevada

An inmate died Friday morning in Northern Nevada, the Nevada Corrections Department said.

Paul E. Stone, 44, died Friday at 11:38 a.m. at the Regional Medical Facility in the Northern Nevada Correctional Center in Carson City, the department said in a statement.

Stone was committed from Clark County in 2005 and was serving a life sentence with the possibility of parole for attempted sexual assault of a victim younger than 16 and lewdness with a minor, the statement said.

An autopsy has been scheduled with the Carson City sheriff’s office, and Stone’s family has been notified, the department said.
